Defining Me

Greeneyes' post made me think, "Hey these folks don't know me."  So, how about getting to know each other?

I'm a 24 year old "single" mother who lives with her boyfriend, and, consequently, father of our son.  We live in a small town full of narrow-minded folks.  I'm outspoken, liberal, and a "guy's girl."  I like my hockey bloody and my beer from Canada.  I'm an unrespected "Front Office Manager" at a major hotel chain.  My job is not a career.  It was a wrong turn at the fork in the parenting road.  I chose to take a responsible route and get promoted to support my new family.  In real life, I'm a cliche, a tormented artist.  I work with metal, though I currently have not done any work.  My dad was a jeweler.  He died in January.  He was my best friend and mentor.  He left me his tools, but I'm scared to collect them.  They are expensive and I have nowhere to put them.  I have many years left of college.  My mom says I'm negative and I self-dectruct.  I'm clinically depressed.  My dad was bi-polar and schizo-effective.  Every psychologist I have seen, assures me that I am not my father.  I was medicated for a short while, but decided to work my problems out with a clear mind.  I'm a free thinker.  I have problems with authority, which is really hard when you're in a position of power.  I enjoy music of all kinds.  My two most favorite bands are Talking Heads and Tool.  I like to dance, especially around my son.  I'm spunky, but have recently become an old sap.  I like when my son wiggles his toes or crawls straight at me, like he's playing chicken.  He'll headbutt me before he stops.  I can be VERY crazy when it comes to my son.  I'm a laid back parent most of the time.  I recently took up running.  I compete in my second 5K in November.  I like to run in front of a mirror at the gym to watch my fat melt away, but I prefer jogging outdoors (though it's rarely possible).  I like fall the best.  I love Halloween, cool nights, and sweatshirts.  Christmas is my favorite season, though this year is going to be very hard.  My son will be one on Saturday.

Great idea to you and Green Eyes...I've only been a part of you guys for a couple of days, and I feel like I've found the missing link in females. So many women that are going through the things I am or will go through, or already have. And who also are "guy's girls". You are amazing...you'll make it through!
